Probe begins after Conn. commuter trains crash

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Two commuter trains packed with rush-hour commuters collided in an accident that sent about 70 people to the hospital, severely damaged the tracks and threatened to snarl travel in the congested Northeast Corridor.
The crash happened Friday evening on the Metro-North Railroad, which serves the northern suburbs of New York City.
The train was hit by a train heading west from New Haven to Grand Central on an adjacent track, MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said.

Ex-NBA player stabbed, seriously injured in fight

BELGRADE, Serbia - Serbian police say Predrag Danilovic, who played for the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks, is seriously injured after being stabbed in a fight.
Police say Danilovic was hurt during a brawl early Saturday in a cafe in a residential part of the capital, Belgrade.
Doctors say Danilovic underwent an operation to treat injuries to his abdomen, head and arms.
